The National Council of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has unanimously endorsed Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, also known as NAPO, as the running mate of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the party’s flagbearer, in a move that is intended to solidify the party’s unity and strength ahead of the upcoming elections.
Earlier, Dr. Bawumia had presented NAPO’s name to the National Council for consideration, in line with the party’s constitution.
The council’s endorsement was met with enthusiasm and applause, as NAPO’s credentials and experience were widely praised.
“I thank members of the National Council for their unanimous and emphatic endorsement of the astute and brilliant Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as my running mate,” Dr. Bawumia wrote on his Facebook page, expressing his gratitude for the council’s support.
This development marks a significant milestone in the NPP’s journey towards the elections, as Bawumia and NAPO prepare to lead the party’s charge.
