During his familiarization tour, Mr. Adamu took note of the myriad concerns and challenges affecting teaching and learning in the schools, as well as the healthcare facilities. However, amidst these challenges, there were also reports of commendable progress and achievements.

One notable achievement highlighted during the visit was the significant improvement in the performance of students in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) since the establishment of a Junior High Schools (JHS) in the area.

Mr. Clement Atwura, the head teacher of the Yarigabisi  Junior High School proudly shared that the school achieved its best BECE results last year, with 18 students obtaining impressive grades.

Many of these students have since proceeded to pursue further education in senior high schools, particularly in science-related fields.

In addition to academic achievements, efforts to address social challenges were also recognized. The nurses applauded the community for its collaborative efforts in combating teenage pregnancy, which had been on the rise from 2018 to 2021. This collective action underscores the importance of community involvement in addressing health issues.

To further support education, particularly in science, Mr. Adamu has procured essential laboratory apparatus as Teaching and Learning Materials (TLMs). These include items such as retort stands, crystal glass beakers, measuring cylinders, and spring balances, among others.

These materials are intended to enhance the effectiveness of science lessons by facilitating practical demonstrations and hands-on learning experiences.

Moreover, the assembly member emphasized the importance of fostering collaboration and camaraderie among teachers and nurses to achieve common goals.

He urged stakeholders in Yarigabisi to support these officials in their duties and mandates, recognizing that collective efforts are crucial for community development.

Mr. Adamu’s visit to the Yarigabisi cluster of schools not only shed light on the challenges faced but also highlighted the resilience and dedication of educators and healthcare providers in the community. By addressing these challenges and promoting collaboration, there is hope for continued progress and development in education and health in Yarigabisi.
