A heart-wrenching video has surfaced on social media, showing a distraught mother, Felicia, begging for assistance in locating her new-born baby, who was stolen from her at the Zebila District Hospital.
According to Felicia, she gave birth at the hospital a week ago and, in a moment of vulnerability, entrusted her baby to a stranger she met in the hospital.
The stranger, who had been lingering around, offered to watch over the baby while Felicia used the washroom. Tragically, when Felicia returned, the lady had vanished with her child.
The incident occurred on Thursday, May 25, 2024, and Felicia has been frantic with worry ever since. The Ghana police service has started investigation into the matter.
In the emotional video posted by Zenbs FM, a local radio station, Felicia appeals to the authorities and the public to help her find her baby.
“I delivered at Zebilla Hospital, and I saw some lady around. I told her to take care of my baby so that I could go and clean myself. After I came, the lady ran away with my baby. I can’t find the lady again. This happened on Thursday, 25th May 2024. I want to tell them to help me to get my baby,” She sobbed.
Felicia’s plea has sparked widespread concern and outrage, with many calling for swift action to be taken to reunite her with her child.
