A Deputy Communications Director of the governing New Patriotic Party, Richard Nyamah has chided the opposition National Democratic Congress over the ongoing protests in several parts of the country over the 2020 elections.
According to him, the NDC can demonstrate all they want for 365 days for 4 years in a row, it will not get the December 7 election results reversed in their favor adding that “we can give them the protection, even we can give them food to eat and get energy. I am telling you they are finished”.
Speaking on the Breakfast Daily show on Citi TV Tuesday morning, Mr. Nyamah stressed that the NDC has no evidence to prove that the election was stolen but now hunting for evidence to proceed to court.
“They are only blowing hot air. There is nothing that Ex-president Mahama can do today to come back as president. Whether he likes it or not he will stay in opposition for another 4 years. So far they have not given us an iota of evidence, saying they are now going to do a forensic audit” Mr. Nyamah added.
Mr. Nyamah asserted that, the former president is positioning himself in pole position to lead the NDC in the next election in 2024 hence the false claims.
“Ex-president Mahama is positioning himself to become the automatic leader of the NDC in 2024. The claims ‘election was stolen’, ‘John Mahama won’ is been imprinted in the minds of the supporters. So, why will anyone want to contest him and this is what they are trying to do” Mr Nyamah opined.
Mr Nyamah also cited the NDC’s negligence and incompetence as a cause of their defeat adding that “In 2013 Justice Atuguba told the whole world that elections are won and lost at the polling stations. Till date the NDC doesn’t have a complete compilation of their 2016 election results. If you don’t know how to collate election results that is your headache. The NPP, the EC and the other political parties have copies of the complete collated election results, how come the NDC do not have theirs”.
Mr. Nyamah also said “The NPP also have similar grievances in Banda and Savelugu constituencies, we are doing our auditing and we will go to court”.
