Management of United Television (UTV) has suspended Nokw3r3 Mmr3, a programme hosted by National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, explaining that the move is to protect its brand, avoid legal suits, retractions and apologies.

In a letter notifying the NDC, management of UTV explained that it had allowed the NDC to run the programme to enable it disseminate its manifesto promises to the populace, but has had to suspend the programme because the programme has deviated from the agreed terms.

As3mpa Y3 Tia, a programme hosted by Ernest Owusu Bempah of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) has also been suspended on similar grounds by the television station.

Reacting to the suspension of the Nokw3r3 Mmr3 programme by UTV on social media, Mr Sammy Gyamfi expressed his resolve to continue to expose the “misrule” of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government led by President Nana Akufo-Addo.

“Nothing can quench our resolve to expose the legendary misrule of President Akufo Addo and the NPP. Nothing can stop us from projecting the superior vision and policies of John Mahama, the Nation Builder.

“The “NOKWARE MMRE” (Moment of Truth) show shall continue to thrive, until victory is won on 7th December, 2020. Stay tuned for more details. #TRUTH STANDS!” He wrote.

Meanwhile some members of the NDC have accused the NPP of orchestrating the suspension of the programme because of how it exposed the government.

Mr Eric Adjei, producer of the Nokw3r3 Mmr3, claimed that the NPP had intentionally started the As3mpa Y3 Tia programme so as to get Nokw3r3 Mmr3 suspended.

“So the NPP intentionally sent Ernest Owusu Bempah to host a program on UTV last Monday in order to suspend the NDC’s “Nokwor3 Mmr3″ (MOMENT of TRUTH) program just because Sammy Gyamfi has exposed the unprecedented level of corruption, thievery & family and friends in Akuffo Addo’s Gov’t?” He wondered.

Nokw3r3 Mmr3 was an NDC campaign programme aired at 7pm on Saturdays while As3mpa Y3 Tia, a programme of the NPP aired at 9pm last Monday. Now though both programmes have been suspended.
