FLOODED ROAD IN NYARIGA

The main Bolgatanga-Tamale road has come under threat of flooding as a result of rising levels of water in the White Volta in Pwalugu in the Upper East region.

Reports reaching dreamzfmonline.com indicates that portions of the road around the Pwalugu Toll booth is flooded while the water is fast rising to the level of the steel bridge.

Dreamzfmonline.com has gathered that the Ghana Highways Authority in the Upper East region has reported the situation to the Regional Minister and Minister for Roads and Highways.

The looming danger poses a threat to convenient traveling from Bolgatanga to Tamale and vice versa.

This comes at a time the region is grappling with the complete cut off of the main Bolgatanga-Bawku road at Kubore in the Bawku West District by speeding water from the White Volta.

The Upper East region has been hit by the flood which has been partly blamed on the spillage of the Bagre Dam in Burkina Faso coupled with heavy rainfalls.

Meanwhile Vice President Dr. Mahmudu Bawumia has visited victims of the flood in the Upper East region and the broken portion of the Bolgatanga-Bawku road.
