Upper East Regional Executives of the New Patriotic Party have rejected accusations of appropriating to themselves smart phones meant to be distributed to communicators of the party in the region.

It was reported that Chief Executive Officer of the National Buffer Stock Company Limited Alhaji Abdul-Wahab Hanan Aludiba had procured smart phones for distribution to communicators of the NPP in five regions. It has emerged that the Upper East region got 54 of the Samsung Galaxy A3 Core smart phones which are yet to be received by the individual communicators.

Following media reports suggesting regional executives of the party are planning to deny communicators the gifts, the Upper East Regional Director of Communications Issah Sanusi has said the phones are yet to be distributed.

“I took delivery of all the 54 smart phones and all party constituencies’ communication officers were duly informed and arrangements were being made to deliver the phones to them. I was therefore taken aback to read the publications that NPP Regional Executives hijacked the smart phones meant for constituencies communication officers. This must be ignored and treated with contempt it deserves,” a statement seen by dreamzfmonline.com said.

He assured that the phones will reach the “right persons” in the coming days.

The availability of resources to communicators of the major political parties in the upper east region has been a challenge. This according to the CEO of the Buffer Stock Company Limited will be addressed with the donation of the smart phones to enable the party spokespersons stay upbeat in their efforts at speaking for the party.
