The Youth Wing of the governing New Patriotic Party in the Upper East Region has pledged to support the Upper East Music Awards headline sponsored by happy man bitters, an award scheme setup to honor singers and other players in the entertainment industry in the region.

Christened the Happy Man Bitters Upper East Music Awards, the scheme has successfully held four editions since its inception with the 2022 being the latest to be held.

Upper East Regional Youth Organizer of the NPP Musah Salahudeen disclosed that the party has taken note of the impact of the program on the entertainment industry and talented youth in the region, hence their interest to support the Organizers of the awards event.

“We have noticed how this program has become very relevant in our region for young people and so as a party that has great interest in youth development and activities, we will be very much interested in supporting it. So I want to assure that as a party, we will support the next edition of the Upper East Music Awards. This I want to promise and assure that we will do it,” he told audience at the 4th edition of the event in Bolgatanga.

The awards night was electrified with live performances from notable singers and music groups in the Upper East Region with many grabbing various awards under the 30 categories outlined under this year’s edition.

Over 15 musicians, sound engineers and video directors went away with various awards and prizes.

The Overall Artist of the Year went to Pandy as he also bagged the Most Popular Song of the Year Award. Soorebia grabbed Digital Artist of the Year and Hip Pop Song of the Year while gospel singer Elvis Nsoyine got Male Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year.

Rockcity, a popular music group from Bongo were awarded Afrobeats Song of the Year and also Fan Army of the Year. Other awardees included Gabriel Atamina, AmenEast Gospel, JahBone,   Rita Ademolga amongst others.
