Mama Lardi Children’s Home and the Timataaba Orphanage in the Bolgatanga Municipality and Talensi District, all of the Upper East Region have received support from Tractors for Africa (TFAF).
The Good Friday Donation saw the foundation present 3 bags of maize and 2 bags of rice each bringing the entire donation to 6 bags of maize and 4 bags of rice.
The support by TFAF is in line with the foundation’s dedication to supporting local communities in Northern Ghana.
Spearheaded by the Interim Chief Executive Officer, Yaw Agyare, and supported by Emmanuel Nsobila, the Director of Finance and Operations, TFAF’s team is aiding vulnerable communities by supplying them with locally grown grain.
Since the launch of its operations in Northern Ghana, TFAF has consistently showcased its commitment to empowering farmers and enhancing agricultural productivity in the region. This has led to the deployment of innovative approaches such as leveraging tractors, introducing alternative payment methods for agricultural supplies, and participating in grain sales, TFAF has significantly transformed the agricultural landscape in Ghana.
Reflecting on their achievements in 2023, Nobila stated that, TFAF has assisted about 1,000 farming families in Northern Ghana by offering tractor services. The initiative that allows farmers to settle debts with grains has yielded impressive results, particularly benefiting women farmers, with almost 90% of beneficiaries being women.
This underscores TFAF’s unwavering dedication to fostering inclusive prosperity. As a result, the vast majority of borrowed funds were successfully repaid, highlighting the efficacy of their method.
Their recent endeavor to provide grains to orphanages is in line with the Foundation’s ethos of community service as it acts on its mission that transcends merely addressing food insecurity; adding, they strive to give hope to the most vulnerable members of society.
Mr. Nsobila emphasized the significance of giving back to the communities stating “We recognize the challenges faced by orphanages, particularly in remote areas like the Upper East. By supplying them with grain grown by our farmers, we aim to offer sustenance and assistance,” he explained.

Apart from the grains, the foundation provided other items including drinks, a bucket of detergent, and some bags of sachet water and cooking oil.
