Musician Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah popularly known by her stage name, Mzbel has reacted to a leaked tape in which she is heard allegedly exchanging words with actress Tracey Boakye over a supposed lover.
In the leaked tape that has since gone viral, a voice purported to be that of Tracey Boakye is heard in a telephone conversation accusing Mzbel of fabricating messages in her name and sending them to the man in question. She also accused her of controlling the finances of the man identified in the conversation as ‘Mahama’ and flirting with him.
The alleged voice of Tracey Boakye said she saw the messages on the phone of ‘Mahama’ and when she confronted him, he did not deny. She expressed worry about the impending consequences if the wife of the man gets hold of the fabricated messages.
The supposed voice of Mzbel is also heard dismissing the accusations stating that the actress was only bragging to her about the fact that she has access to ‘Mahama’s’ phone and daring Tracey Boakye to sue her if she has incriminating evidence against her as she is claiming.
This, some say, is a confirmation that the married man referred to as “Papa No” over whom the two were engaged in a verbal war is former president John Dramani Mahama.
But in a live video on social media, Mzbel, who did not deny the audio, refuted the assertion that the two have an amorous relationship with the former president.
Discrediting the accusation allegedly made by Tracey Boakye in the leaked audio, she said the actress was only bragging to feel important and that there is no truth in what she is heard saying.
Mzbel who could not fathom why anyone will believe what is said in the audio asserted that the audio was deliberated recorded and leaked to dent the image of the former president.
“If not for cheap political capital, how can anyone take what is said in the audio seriously? Were we not here when Dr. UN organized a fraudulent award and awarded celebrities in the name of high-profile Personality like Kofi Annan? So if someone is bragging that they have closed relationship with a high profile personality, does it make what they said true? Mahama cannot be that indiscreet (to allow Tracey Boakye have access to his phone and financial statements). Don’t you realize the person accusing me was just bragging to feel important?” she squeezed.
Tracey Boakye, however, claimed the audio is a fabrication by members of the governing party to score cheap political capital.
