MR. LOGIC, ARTISTE MANAGER

Artiste manager and entertainment pundit, Mr. Logic has described people blaming government for the prevailing economic hardships as blockheaded.

Mr. Logic said the hardships in Ghana are attributable to the geopolitical tension between Russia and Ukraine hence, it smacks of ignorance to blame the government for the current economic situation.

According to him, economies all over the world interdepend on each other hence, a disruption in the Russian economy which is one of the biggest in the world will adversely affect the world economy including that of Ghana which heavily depends on Russia for the supply of some commodities.

Ghanaians, in recent times, have lamented over rising cost of living as prices of goods and services have skyrocketed over the period.

Many say the situation has made life unbearable as they struggle to make ends meet and thus, called on government to take measures to ease the economic difficulties.

Although government has acknowledged the hardships in the country, it has blamed the Covid-19 pandemic and the ongoing Russian/Ukrainian war for the difficult times.

Vice President Dr. Bawumia, speaking recently at the National TESCON Conference in Kasoa in the Central Region, stated that Ghana has been directly affected by the war as he indicated that the situation has exacerbated the incessant hikes in prices of commodities in the country.

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has, however, dismissed the claims by the Vice President, insisting that the hardships are due to the mismanagement of the affairs of the country by government.

But speaking on Accra-based Hitz FM, Mr. Logic said he agrees with the Vice President and that those blaming the economic situation on government have decided “to be blockheaded”.

“It is not government’s (fault). These are things that saddens my heart. It hurts me when some people decide to be blockheaded. I agree with the Vice President when he said the Russia/Ukraine is having an impact on the economy. It is not only Ghana’s economy but the whole world’s economy. Russia as at 2021, was 5th largest economy in Europe and it is recognized as the world’s richest and largest stockpile of nuclear.

America is depending on Russia, Russia also depends on China. China also depends on India. This is how they trade. They interdepend on each other. So once the war start from Ukraine, you may think that because you are in Ghana, it won’t affect you. So some are supporting Ukraine, others are supporting Russia. Some are even offering to go and fight, forgetting that that fight will affect the price of your tomatoes, cassava, plantain, pineapple. Everything you buy, everything you sell, it will affect them. So I agreed with what the Vice President said,” he stated.
