The Bongo Constituency Youth Organizer of the governing New Patriotic (NPP), Abugre Jonathan is calling on leadership of the party at the national level to intervene to resolve differences within the party in the area.

The District Chief Executive (DCE), whose appointment to her position was supposed to mend cracks within the party, he stated, has side-lined executives of the party in the area, leaving them disgruntled and further deepening the cracks.

“Things are not going well as expected. Ever since the DCE was appointed, we have not met as constituency executives”.

The situation, if not resolved ahead of the upcoming elections, he warned, could hindered the party’s chances in the area.

He noted that there have been efforts to mend the cracks but the issues still persist.

He is, therefore, asking the national leadership to intervene to unite the party in the area.

“I will appeal to leadership at the national level to put their eyes on Bongo. They should come down and put us together. You go around and speak to most of the polling station executives and the electoral area coordinators, and they would tell you they are sad, they don’t sleep over the matters that happen in Bongo,” he said.

He is also asking the parliamentary candidate for the constituency for the 2024 elections, Diana Aburiya to put her foot down and bring every member on-board to prosecute the party’s campaign.
