Daniel Dung Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for the Talensi Constituency has officially filed his nominations on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at the Talensi District office of the Electoral Commission.
This move paves the way for him to contest for the Parliamentary seat in the upcoming elections.
Mahama’s nomination filing follows that of Robert Alibo, the New Patriotic Party’s Parliamentary Candidate, who was the first to file.
With the stage now set, the Talensi Constituency is bracing itself for a keenly contested election.
Confident and determined, Mr Mahama expressed his optimism about winning the seat with a significant margin, during an engagement with journalists present.
He attributed his confidence to the current economic hardship faced by the constituents of Talensi and Ghanaians at large, as well as the widespread discontent with the governance of the incumbent NPP government.
He said, “The NDC’s vision is clear: a 24-hour economy, agric mechanization, women’s bank, free tertiary education for first-year students among others. The people are ready for a change in governance”.
“In Talensi Constituency, our specific plans include upgrading CHPS compounds to clinics and introducing motivational programs for young farmers,” he added.
