The Parliamentary Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Talensi Constituency, Robert Alibo has said that the government is responsive to the needs of communities hence, the introduction of the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP).
Speaking during the formal inauguration and utilization of the heavy-duty equipment in Pwalugu, Mr. Alibo noted that the government remains responsive to the needs of various communities.
As part of the program, the constituency will witness the carving out of various roads to allow for more access and this was demonstrated in the construction of a new road that connects to the palace of the Pwalugu Chief.
The Talensi District just like all the districts in the in Upper East Region has taken delivery of some earth moving equipment as part of the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP).
This equipment includes a roller, backhoe, motor grader, dump truck, and concrete mixers. In all, the Upper East Region has so far received 117 different categories of equipment with others expected to be delivered later.
Speaking at the formal utilization of the equipment, Mr. Alibo said the government is focused on addressing the developmental challenges of communities.
He is, therefore, urging residents of the constituency to endorse him and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the December polls for more development.
“We just got into the Pwalugu community to outdoor the DRIP equipment and to formally begin the process of working with these communities to fix their roads. This has a background that relates to responsive leadership because this was a huge cry by communities and this suggest government is focused on dealing with people’s problems.”
“The people of Talensi are seeing the things that they need and I believe that the NPP has held its contract with the Talensi people and as we are going around, we are listening to them when given the nod, more will be done,” he stressed.
