Sole parliamentary candidate aspirant of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) for Bolgatanga East Constituency, Mathew Silas Amoah has dared his critics to report him to the appropriate quarters if they think his source of wealth is illegitimate.
Silas Amoah expressed surprised that people are raising suspicions about how came by his riches simply because of his philanthropic activities.
According to him, although it is a common phenomenon to have people questioning one’s source of riches especially in the Northern part of the country, such questions are usually raised when the said wealthy person is stingy.
But with his level of generosity, Mathew Amoah is shocked that people are suspicious about his means of income.
“In our part of the world, they feel if you go for suspicious money, you don’t spend money and they will say ‘this man is so greedy, he doesn’t spend his money, why has he gone for money rituals’. But others say because someone is spending, he has gone for money rituals or he has done any illegal to gain money,” he stated in an interview on Dreamz FM on Sunday night.
He, however, indicated that he is unperturbed by such suspicions as he said paying attention to such notions could discourage others from pursuing wealth.
Mathew Amoah asked anybody suspicious about his riches to report him to the appropriate quarters for him to be interrogated.
“But these things don’t discourage me. I know my sources. We have state institutions, if you think I’m involved in anything illegal, report it and the authority will investigate it. You don’t wait for me to get a problem before they investigate me. Anybody can report me”.
Silas Amoah took the Bolgatanga East Constituency by storm, undertaking huge developmental projects in furtherance of what he said is his quest to better the lives of his people. He, subsequently, entered the forefront of politics in the area and is seeking to be Parliament of Parliament for the Constituency.
But his heavy spending in undertaking projects in the area got the attention of many including the Member of Parliament for the Constituency and his likely contender in the 2024 Elections, who subtly questioned his source of wealth and asked him to spend wisely.
