Minister of Youth and Sports, Isaac Kwame Asiamah, has advised the youth to not allow themselves to be used as agents of violence as the country heads to the polls this December, advising that they rather channel their time and energies towards the development of the country.
Mr Asiamah, who is the sitting Member of Parliament(MP) for the Atwima Mponua Constituency in the Ashanti Region, further advised them to take advantage of the many policies and programmes targeted at the youth that have been rolled out by the Akufo-Addo-led administration.
Mr Asiamah made this appeal last Tuesday after a Health Walk in his constituency as part of his campaign for reelection.
Some of the policies and programmes he enumerated were: free Senior High School education, the planting for food and jobs in the agriculture sector, the Nation Builders’ Corps among others.
As the country heads to polls to elect parliamentarians and a President on December 7, 2020, many have called on the stakeholders, especially political parties, to allow peace to prevail once again. The youth have been enjoined by many to eschew violence.
