President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo’s DCE nominee for the Pusiga District, Zubeiru Abdulai has been confirmed by members of the Pusiga District assembly.

Out of the 22 Assembly Members who voted in an election held to determine the fate of the nominee, 15 voted ‘Yes’ in favor of his nomination while 7 voted ‘No’ against his nomination, giving him 68 percent of the votes.

Mr. Zubeiru, in an acceptance speech, thanked the president for the confidence he reposed in him by nominating him for the second time.

He also expressed gratitude to the assembly members, stating “By this act you have clearly demonstrated that we have a collective interest for the development of our noble district. I would like to use this platform to assure you that my doors are always open to all persons who are interested in promoting the development agenda of our noble district”.

The DCE assured of working with all stakeholders to advance the developmental agenda of the Akufo-Addo’s government.

“I assure you of my resolute to work assiduously to advance the developmental. Agenda of this government, I shall work with relevant stakeholder’s state and private institutions and other development partners to ensure that the dreams and aspirations of the president as well as the people of Pusiga are attained”.

The election was supervised by the District Electoral Commission and witnessed by the Upper East Regional Minister, Stephen Yakubu, Member of Parliament for Pusiga, Laadi Ayii Ayamba, NPP Regional Chairman Anthony Anamoo and other dignitaries.

Mr. Zubeiru has been the DCE for the area for the past 4 years and was among the few MDCEs retained by the president.

In 2017, he attained a 100 percent endorsement from the assembly in his first confirmation as DCE.
