Former President John Dramani Mahama has said President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is virtually bathing in corruption following his inability to take action against his appointees who engage in such acts.
According to the National Democratic Congress flagbearer, President Nana Addo’s close relatives who have been appointed into his government have demonstrated sufficient levels of corruption which have gone unpunished, a situation that has soaked the President and his government in corruption.
“When we were in government, they accused us of so many things. They tagged us of corruption but today, what do we see? The President is bathing in corruption. Every day we hear of one act of corruption or the other involving his close appointees. The allegations of corruption are of people close to him,”Mr. Mahama told party supporters in Zuarungu.
In his assertion, though it might not be possible for the President to know about every corrupt act on the part of all his appointees, those that have come to his attention including the PDS and Agyapa deal have gone without any action.
“We are here on a rescue mission. This election is about our future and the future of our children. We must rescue this country from the hands of the NPP government,” he added.
Former President Mahama who is on a campaign tour of the Upper East region also promised to convert the Community Day Senior High School in Gambibgo to a boarding school when re-elected.
