Musician Atimbila has decried what he said is the exploitation of his craft to his disadvantage.
In an interview on Breakfast Today on Dreamz FM, Atimbila said some persons are using his works to make money online without compensating him in any form.
This, in his view, is a total rip off and he intends to take action against such individuals.
Describing it as unfair, the musician stated that while the said persons are feasting off his sweat, he is reeling in abject poverty.
“they are just playing and then people uploading my songs online to make money without giving me a penny and it’s bad. You can’t use someone’s talent like that. It’s my creativity”.
He continued, “When I started my music career, I had a lot of potentials. But people exploited me. We were not able to shoot a video for the song I featured Sarkodie because of mismanagement. They are exploiting me to make money online but I’m not getting anything”.
The musician is among few creatives from the Upper East Region to have a national breakthrough.
He gained national attention in 2012 when he participated in the maiden edition of reality show MTN hitmaker.
He went ahead to feature big guns in the Ghanaian music industry like Sarkodie, now defunct music group Ruff N Smooth and Keche in songs that became popular nationwide.
However, he has not been in the best of shape in recent times, raising concerns about among music lovers.
Atimbila blamed his current predicament on attacks by evil spirits.
“Evil spirits are negatively affecting my career”.
