SAMSON LARDI ANYENINI- PRIVATE LEGAL PRACTITIONER

That Samson Lardy Anyenini is an accomplished lawyer and journalist is not in doubt. He sounds so erudite and carries himself with so much elegance that one may be tempted to conclude that he comes from a long line of aristocrats.

But Mr Anyenini, a native of Gambibgo in the Bolgatanga East District of the Upper East Region was not born into wealth.

His parents predictably migrated down south, specifically to the Ashanti Region, to seek greener pastures and give little Anyenini and his siblings a brighter future.

They somewhat succeeded. Little Anyenini’s love for learning opened doors for him and kept him safe from negative influences around him.

After excelling in basic school, Anyenini proceeded to the Navrongo High School for his secondary education. His voracious appetite for reading and scholarship meant that the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) had no power to stop his dreams of becoming a university student.

At the University of Ghana, Anyenini showed exceptional brilliance as he took on tough courses like Philosophy and Classics. He not only excelled academically, he distinguished himself in student leadership, serving as Junior Common Room(JCR) ?President for the Akuafo Hall.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree, Mr Anyenini worked with Luv FM in Kumasi. He would later work with the BBC.

Mr Anyenini qualified as a Lawyer in 2010. In 2013 he left his employment as News Editor with the Multimedia Group to practise full time as a lawyer. He has however continued to host Newfile, a hugely influential current affairs show on Joy FM and Joy News. He is the head of law firm, A-Partners @ Law.

“Samson was previously with Osu-based Gaisie Zwennes Hughes & Co. He holds a Master of Laws in Alternative Dispute Resolution with practice focus on International Commercial and Investment Arbitration. He is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

He has consulted for and delivered special papers for professional institutions and special organizations including the Judicial Service of Ghana and the local chapter of global watchdog Ghana Integrity Initiative and Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition, Ghana Centre for Democratic Development.

He was recently invited to serve on the Board of the International Lawyers Assisting Workers (ILAW) Network,” his profile on his law firm’s website reads in part.

Mr Anyenini was crowned GJA Journalist of the Year 2019 in Accra yesterday, October 24, 2020.
