The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has placed first in the ballot for the 2024 elections.

The balloting was conducted this evening by the Electoral Commission to determine the positions each of the 13 aspirants and their tickets will occupy on the ballot paper for the upcoming elections.

It was conducted in two phases – phase one for political parties and phase two for independent candidates.

At the end of the phase one balloting, the governing NPP placed first while the leading opposition NDC picked the eighth position.

The Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP), Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Ghana Union Movement (GUM) and Liberal Party of Ghana will appear on the second, third, fourth and fifth positions on the ballot sheet respectively .

Occupying the sixth spot will be the National Democratic Party (NDP), the Convention People’s Party (CPP) comes at the seventh position and the All People’s Congress (APC) placing ninth on the ballot paper for the elections.

After the balloting for the independent candidates, Kofi Koranteng placed tenth, George Twum Barima Adu eleventh and Nana Kwame Bediako twelfth with Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen picking the thirteenth spot on the ballot paper.
