The Youth Wing of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has threatened to retaliate with full force if the leading opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) goes ahead with its purported plans to destroy billboards and posters of the NPP presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

According to a statement signed by the party’s National Youth Organizer, Salam Mustapha, it has picked Intel that the NDC has sanctioned the destruction of posters of the NPP flagbearer beginning tonight.

It alleged that, “it has become a habit of the NDC to destroy the posters and billboards of the NPP and over the period we have decided to remain quiet about it”.

The party said although it had, over the period, not responded, hoping that the security agencies would deal with such misconduct, the security service has demonstrated incapacity in tackling the purported provocative acts of the NDC.

It said it has now ran out of patience with the security agencies and will now take matters into its hands to safeguard its interest.

“We have ran out of patience since the police has shown incapacity to deal with the situation” .

It added, “To the police across the country, since you are not interested in this matter, we will not come to you to report anything. We will nib this buffoonery ourselves by exacting proportional counter response”.

The party indicated, “We are by this release activating all of our systems across the constituencies and regions to be on the lookout and we further direct that every billboard and poster of John Dramani Mahama, too, should be pulled down and shredded into pieces if they go ahead with the said operation”.

It urged its party executives at all levels to demonstrate that “we are prepared for this elections in every strand”.
