Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central Constituency Isaac Adongo has become a subject of ridicule by some supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) following a series of appointments and nominations by President John Dramani Mahama.
Many had tipped the Bolgatanga Central MP to be considered for a substantive ministerial post, with some touting him as a strong candidate for the Minister of Finance.
But his chances for a seat in the government seem to be growing slimmer as the President has unveiled a full list of nominees for substantive ministerial posts and has just few vacancies left.
While his loyalists are still hopeful that he will be considered for a position preferably a deputy minister, others especially supporters of the largest opposition NPP have subjected him to ridicule.
“How come this ECONOMIST was not named as the finance minister and was not even considered as a member of the economic “problem identification” committee? Or he’s being considered to head IMF?” wrote an NPP social media activist.

Less than a month after assuming office, President has made nominations and appointments to the various ministries, agencies and the Presidency.
So far, he has made nominations to fill all substantive ministerial positions and has indicated that he will name his picks for deputy ministerial positions for some ministries soon.
