Former President John Dramani Mahama has questioned the credibility of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his Vice President Dr. Mahmudu Bawumia in the management of the affairs of the country.
The National Democratic Congress flagbearer who was speaking on a campaign thrill stressed that the President and his Vice have been caught in a web of dishonesty, following their inability to deliver on issues they accused him of when they were in opposition.
According to him, Ghanaians are enduring more hunger and hardship under the current administration than under the previous NDC administration.
“Dr. Bawumia told us that he worked at Bank of Ghana and that there is money in this country. What are we seeing today? So much borrowing and this is the person talking about credibility? They have made Ghana HIPC again,” he quizzed.
He continued that “President Akufo Addo said that when they come to power, they will build 350 Senior High Schools. We have the video. Today they are denying that he said it. And these are the people talking about credibility”.
Former President Mahama who is on a campaign tour of the Greater Accra region further assured importers of salvaged vehicles that a future NDC government will reverse the decision of the current government to ban the importation of salvaged vehicles.
“They have only set up a small VW Assembling plant and the people who work there aren’t up to 100. Meanwhile, all the artisans who work on salvaged vehicles are likely to lose their sources of livelihood because of such a small assembling plant. If you say no accident car should not be imported, it means all those doing body works will lose their jobs. We told government to abandon the idea of the ban, they have only suspended it. We want them to abandon it completely,” he added.
