Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central Constituency Isaac Adongo has passed a damning verdict on his opponent, the New Patriotic Party parliamentary candidate for the constituency, Rex Asanga.
According to the National Democratic Congress Member of Parliament, the NPP candidate will still lose the 2020 parliamentary election even if he decides to abandon his own campaign and campaign for his opponent.
Isaac Adongo who is seeking to be re-elected to parliament for a second term is facing competition from the 2016 NPP candidate who is also back in the race.
Speaking on Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana with Paul Adom Otchere monitored by dreamzfmonline.com, the outspoken legislator said “Even if I campaign for my opponent I’ll still win. Its never possible for him to win”.
He disclosed that the Bolgatanga Central constituency recorded over 75,000 registered voters in the 2020 voter registration, a figure higher than an initial 68,000 that voted in the 2016 election.
This he described as protest registration by angry voters who are lacing up to vote against the New Patriotic Party.
“We can’t get 100% but we will give his Excellency John Dramani Mahama something to smile about,” he added.
The MP beat his opponent in the 2016 election by a total of 9,432 votes, a feet election observers say may replay in the upcoming elections.
