Upper East Regional Secretary of the main opposition National Democratic Congress Donatus Akamugre is urging members of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) to support president’s John Dramani Mahama’s bid to become president again.
Donatus stated that the policy ideas proposed by the NDC’s flagbearer will ameliorate the suffering most NPP supporters are currently facing if he is given the mandate.
Speaking in an interview on Breakfast Today, the NDC’s regional Secretary said despite the NPP being in government, most of its members are facing untold hardships due to what he believes is the mismanagement by the government.
He, therefore, wants them to support Mr. Mahama, who he thinks has the competence and the ideas to turn things around for the better.
“We are ready to carry them on board. All of them when we create the enabling atmosphere, the NPP guys, most of them are suffering. But they don’t want to say it because their government is power. They know that they are suffering more than the NDC because we are already people who know that we are in opposition. They should come and vote a change in their lives,” he stated.
Emphasizing on the 24-hour economy proposal, Donatus Akamugre said the policy is a comprehensive one that will transform the entire economy.
