MOSES ASAGA - FORMER NABDAM MP

Former Member of Parliament for the Nabdam Constituency in the Upper East Region, Hon. Moses Asaga has expressed outrage at the posturing and conduct of the Upper East regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party Anthony Namoo which he described as disrespectful to him and other notable persons in the Nabdam constituency.

According to the former Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority, he had once paid the school fees of the Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party to the law school and therefore finds it disappointing that his support is not being appreciated.

The former lawmaker said he expected the NPP regional chairman to demonstrate respect to him and others who are his seniors in society but is rather taken aback at the conduct of Mr. Namoo.

Speaking on top of his voice, Hon. Moses Asaga said, “the first person I paid his school is Anthony Namoo. I’m not saying that I took care of his education but when he was going to the law school, there was no money to pay his fees. It was myself Moses Asaga, Professor Saa Dittoh, late N.N Nayenbil, Dr. Tii, Somtim, Dr. Yenbila, Mrs. Anderson and Damol Daan who came together to contribute money to assist Anthony Namoo.” Hon Asaga recounted.

Hon. Moses Asaga was addressing party sympathizers at Zanlerigu-Wooredaa during the commissioning of a CHPS facility which happens to be one of the projects executed by the Member of Parliament of the area, Dr. Mark Kurt Nawaane. The three-office accommodation CHPS Compound with a consulting room, an OPD and wash rooms is expected to serve the health needs of over five other communities at the Zanlerigu electoral area.

Speaking to the teeming supporters, Hon. Asaga further narrated that because he was the MP of the area, he decided to foot the admission bills of Anthony Namoo so he could go and report to school in time.

“You know how difficult it becomes when different people are coming together to contribute money to support someone. So I decided to take care of the entire bills for him to go to school. As I speak today, I did not ask the committee for any refund of that money. So he should learn to respect people, and appreciate me for the assistance I gave him.” He concluded.

The immediate past Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority has been campaigning in the Nabdam Constituency for John Dramani Mahama and Dr. Mark Kurt Nawaane on the ticket of NDC ahead of the December 7 elections.
