MATHEW SILAS AMOAH DONATING THE CASH TO THE REGIONAL AMBULANCE MANAGER

If you happen to see the ambulance meant for the Bolgatanga East Constituency back on the road in the not-too-distant future, it is courtesy of Mathew Silas Amoah, the parliamentary candidate aspirant of the governing New Patriotic (NPP), for the Bolgatanga East Constituency in the Upper East Region who has donated 12,000 cedis to have the vehicle fixed.

The vehicle broke down for nearly four months and has not been functioning due to damaged injectors, a situation that has made response to emergency issues not only in the Bolgatanga East Constituency difficult but also in other parts of the region.

This is so because the ambulance meant for the Bolga East Constituency served the Bolgatanga Central and Talensi Constituencies after their vehicles broke down due to crashes.

Moved by the situation, Mr. Amoah on Monday, August 14, 2023, presented the sum of 12,000 cedis in cash to the Ambulance Service to have the vehicle fixed.

He explained that the broken-down vehicle saved the life of his brother after he was involved in a motor crash and therefore, he finds it prudent to support the office to function.

Aside from the donation of the money, Mr. Amoah promised to donate computers and printers to the Bolga East District Ambulance office which exists without a single computer to help in their efforts to keep data.

“As individuals, when these things come to our attention and we think we are in a position to help, we will help. So, in the letter, the amount you requested was around 11, 000 but we have rounded it up to 12,000 cedis for you. This ambulance saved the life of my brother so if we can help, and we will.

If our people are struggling like this, it is not okay and I keep saying it isn’t that we have so much. If we are talking of rich men, we have rich men in this constituency but it takes someone with heart of giving to give. So, sometimes people feel we do a show-off. It is not a show-off, it is the heart of giving and anytime it is important for us to assist, we will gladly do that.” He emphasized.

The Upper East Regional Manager of the National Ambulance Service, Ali Baba in receiving the donation assured residents of the area that his outfit will work to bring the vehicle back on the road soon adding the breakdown of the vehicle has made service delivery within the BONABOTO zone pretty difficult.

He, therefore, expressed gratitude to the aspirant for the intervention.
