Controversial musician cum politician, Kwame Obeng Asare popularly known as Kwame A Plus has advised former president John Dramani Mahama to pay heed to calls on him to accept the outcome of the December 7 General Elections.

Kwame A-Plus asserted that calls on Mr. Mahama to concede defeat to the president-elect is in the right direction and thus, he should consider accepting the results as was declared by the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission.

He believes Mr. Mahama’s acceptance of the presidential election results, although he may have reservations about the outcome, could boost his future political ambitions.

While wishing the NDC’s presidential candidate well in his endeavors, he impressed upon him to pay heed to those urging him to concede defeat.

“Those who care about you and your political future are those who will advise you to accept the results irrespective of what may have happened, call Nana Akufo Addo and congratulate him, take a retrospective break and make a decision for tomorrow.

Those who give you such advice are the people you need around you right now; they are the ones you should be listening to at this moment. It may help you in the near future. I wish you all the best,” he stated.

There have been calls on the former president to concede defeat following he and his party’s rejection of the results of Monday’s election.

Mr. Mahama at a press conference on the night of Thursday, December 10, a day after the election results were declared, said he is unable to accept the election results which he alleged were rigged in favor of the ruling party and its presidential candidate.

The former president described the election results as fictionalized and the election as flawed and discredited assuring his supporters of his resolve to ensure a reversal of the results in his favor.

“It has been my pledge throughout my time of service as a representative to the good people of Ghana to do exactly that and that’s why I stand before you tonight unwilling to accept the fictionalized results of a flawed election. We will take all legitimate steps to reverse this travesty of justice” he avowed.

But a section of the Ghanaian populace wants him to concede defeat or contest the election results in the law court since his continuous rejection of the results and claims of rigging in public speeches could disturb the peace and tranquility of the country.
