Guinness World Record attempter, Joel Nsobila Atinga is set to hold a kebab feast on June 15, 2024 in Bolgatanga

The event will take place at Tap Hotel in the afternoon and is expected to be graced by many dignitaries including traditional leaders.

According to Joel Atinga, the feast is meant to appreciate the people of the Upper East Region for their support during his Guinness World Record attempt.

It will also showcase his cutlery skills to his home region since he could not hold the attempt there.

Attendees will have an opportunity to taste kebab grilled by him for free and engage in other fun activities.

Peace messages will also be shared at the event as the country inches close to an election.

“What we did in Accra, a lot people said it should have been brought home. So I want my people to have a feel of what we did there and to also have a taste of their son’s khebab. I will be campaigning for peace since we are an election year,” he stated in an interview on State of Our Nation on Dreamz FM.

The feast, he said, will be preceded by a float through principal streets of Bolgatanga in the morning.

While pleading for support to make it a success, Atinga indicated that a similar feast will be held in Accra later this year and he expects to make it an annual event that will be rotated around the country.

Atinga, university graduate grilled kebab for 90 hours 28 minutes from April 11 to 15, 2024, in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest barbecue marathon by an individual.

He revealed that he has submitted evidence of his attempt to the world record organization and is positive about the outcome.
