A communication team member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Upper East Region disagrees with assertions that the Nana-addo-led government has not undertaken any developmental project in the region.

Augustine Guure says such assertions are completely wrong and contrary to facts.

“It’s going to be out of place if you say that (haven’t done anything). For instance, they (NPP’s government) have committed 40.6 million to the Bawku-Bolga- Pulmoku road, so will you be able to say they have done nothing? that means you will be contracting your facts,” he stated on Breakfast Today.

According to him, although the government’s delivery in the region is unsatisfactory considering the amount of resources at its disposal, it is inaccurate to suggest that it has not done anything beneficial to the region.

However, just like his party, he is unhappy with the government for not committing to developing the region.

Augustine Guure argues that the New Patriotic Party’s government has all the needed resources to uplift the face of the region if it had people of the region at heart.

“The truth is that they have not done much because they have been in the possession of much resources than any other government in the history of the country and they should have done better than the NDC did”.

He called on residents including members of the NPP to shelf their political interest and demand their share of the national cake .

At a press conference yesterday, the NDC in the region accused president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his government of neglecting people of the region.

They claimed the government, after 6 years in office, has not undertaken any significant development project, which it can point to in the region.

Even projects which were ongoing before it took over the reigns of governance have been abandoned, they further claimed.

This, in their assertion, is unacceptable and therefore, demanded that government take steps to secure funding for projects that have stalled due to lack of funds.
