The Member of Parliament(MP) for the Bolgatanga Central Constituency Isaac Adongo has made a presentation of cash amount of Ghc 9000 in fulfilment of a pledge he made to teams that participated in the Ramadan Soccer Fiesta tournament in his constituency.
At the start of the 2022 tournament two months ago, Isaac Adongo pledged to support with Ghc 9000.
In a short address before handing over the cash to the organisers, he said he was happy to see the Representatives of the 24 teams that participated present .
Mr Adongo explained that the delay in redeeming the pledge was as a result of overwhelming engagements and activities he needed to attend to in other jurisdictions as part of his duties as a legislator.
Receiving the money on behalf of his colleague organizers, Chairman Sule Belo was full of praise for the MP for his support continuous support to the promotion of sports in the constituency.
Mr Atia, a member of the organizing committee pleaded with the MP to use his good office to lobby for a stadium for the upper east region. He stated that most teams that qualify to play in Division One league travel outside the region to play because there is no standard football field in the region. The development he stressed has affected most clubs in the region including notable clubs like Bolga All Stars and Kasena Nankana United who have qualified for Division One league next season.
He made it clear that all the twenty four(24) participating communities will be given an appearance fee of Ghc 250 each, the semi-finalist will receive an additional Ghc 500 and the overall winner will receive Ghc 1000.
This promise was fulfilled on Sunday 10th July, 2022 after a short meeting with the Organizers and the twenty four(24) community representatives.
Hon. Isaac also gave the Organizers Ghc 1000 for their hard work in ensuring that they are able to bring the various communities together.
Meanwhile the Ramadan Soccer Fiesta Top Eight kicked off on Sunday with the quarter finalist to mark theĀ Eidul Adha Celebration. The opening match saw defending champions, Kotokoli-Zongo beaten by Dagmweo, 5-4 on penalties after an intense 1-1 draw.
The eight communities are Kotokoli-Zongo, Dagmweo, Atulbabissi, Moshie-Zongo, Majeema, Tindonmoligo, Pobaga and D-line.
It runs from Sunday 10th July till Saturday 16th July, 2022 at the Bolgatanga Mobil Astru Turf Field.
