ESTHER'S PRESENT CONDITION AND A PICTURE OF ISAAC ADONGO

The Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central Constituency in the Upper East Region, Isaac Adongo, has stepped in to pay for the full cost of treatment for Esther, a 30-year-old lady with severe injury sustained after she fell on fire.

Mr. Adongo has through the MPs fund written a cheque of GH¢18,500 in the name of the Tamale Teaching Hospital, which covers the full cost of the treatment at the tertiary facility.

Dreamz News in the early days of July reported about the plight of Esther, who in October 2022, was preparing porridge for her now two-year-old boy and had an epileptic attack that would later make her a pale shadow of her former self.

Esther was full of life and looked naturally stout, as her previous pictures show a young lady beaming with smiles.

The young lady, who could pose for a picture or spend a lot of time facing the mirror to dress for the day’s activities as many ladies would, can no longer afford to look at her present state in the mirror. She is virtually scared of her image.

An attempt to do so would leave her crying the whole day. Scared to look at herself in the mirror, Esther is traumatized by people avoiding her because of her condition, and children immediately cry and run away upon seeing her face.

She sustained severe injury to her face, eyes, neck, and shoulder areas after the Epileptic attack made her fall straight into a burning coal pot with boiling water.

Before she could be rescued, she had sustained serious damage to the upper part of her body.

The young lady has her chin held to her chest, her left eye seriously injured, and a face and neck full of scars and this has left her unable to raise her head or turn her neck as any person would do.

As a result, she takes a lot of time to eat solid food.

A letter from the Tamale Teaching Hospital Diagnosed her with Multiple Severe contractors (post burns) requiring specialist care at the Plastic Unit of the Tamale Teaching Hospital.

The entire cost of the surgery, which is GH¢18,500 involves neck release, which amounts to GH¢11,000, medication that will cost GH¢2,000, ectropion release costing GH¢1,500, and Gh¢4,000 for muscleneus.

Following the report, Dreamz News equally stated an appeal to the public which saw members of the public contribute to the tune of GH¢5,229.

With Mr. Adongo taking care of the entire cost of the treatment, the rest of the contributions will go a long way to support the young lady as steps are now being taken to get her to Tamale for the needed care.
