Chairman of advocacy group Narrative Changers Solomon Gbenka says the Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central Isaac Adongo has failed to trumpet pressing developmental needs of the constituency.
Solomon Gbenka argued that although the MP has projected the constituency nationally, he has fallen short in advocating and using his influence to bring development to his people.
“What I expect him to be championing, he is not actually championing those things”.
He noted that the constituency, which is the regional capital of the Upper East Region, faced many development challenges and he expects the MP to prioritize such issues aside his work in Parliament.
However, Isaac Adongo, in his view, appears to be concerned about attending to party’s issues and social gatherings than pushing for these challenges to be addressed.
“The whole of Bolga, which is the regional capital, there is no sports stadium and these are things that can engage the youth than attending funerals and ceremonies here and there.”
Solomon Gbenka, though, acknowledged that the MP, apart from projecting the constituency, has distinguished himself in executing his legislative duties in Parliament.
He said this in Dreamz FM’s Constituency Highlights, a programme that sheds light on needs of constituents and the pledges of parliamentary aspirants.
