ISAAC ADONGO, MP FOR BOLGATANGA CENTRAL CONSTITUENCY

Member of Parliament for the Bolgatanga Central Constituency Isaac Adongo has won his re-election bid for a third term in Parliament.

Isaac Adongo obtained 35,101 of the valid votes cast to win a third term bid.

His main contender Elvis Atia Awonekai, who some said, would give him a run for his money, secured 15,470, falling behind Adongo by almost 20,000 votes. Akunlibe Peter of the People’s National Convention (PNC) followed distantly with 404 votes.

Isaac Adongo made his debut in the race for the Bolgatanga Central seat in 2016, emerging victorious and retaining it in the subsequent election.

He won in both instances against Rex A. Asanga, who is now the Municipal Chief Executive for Bolgatanga.

Awonekai, who succeeded Asanga as the NPP candidate, was confident of snatching the seat for the governing party.

He has, however, conceded after the results show he was far from winning the seat inĀ  the Upper East Regional capital.
