Flag-bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has extolled Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga, Isaac Adongo as a sharp brain.
Introducing the MP as the NDC’s parliamentary candidate for the 2024 elections at a rally in Bolgatanga, Mr. Mahama said Isaac Adongo is well versed in issues relating to finances and economics and has been leading the party in its financial and economic propositions in parliament.
Because of Adongo’s expertise in the field and his spectacular delivery on issues relating to the field, he has become a thorn in the flesh of the governing New Patriotic Party’s (NPP’s) leader, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who is an economist by profession, he stated.
“You must vote NDC for presidential and NDC for parliamentary. And there’s this fine young man here. He’s like my younger brother. When it comes to finance and economics, it is he who makes the vice president run away,” he stated.
He added, “It is because of him the vice president and the NPP’s candidate have stopped talking about economy. He has chased him away from economy. And he is one of our sharp young men on the front bench of our parliament.”
He, therefore, asked voters in Bolgatanga Central Constituency to return their MP back to Parliament in 2025 to help him pursue sound economic policies if the party wins the elections.
“When I come into office, I need these people to help me work so that we can turn the economy around”.
He urged the electorates to reject the NPP’s attempt to persuade them to vote against NDC’s parliamentary candidates in favour of the governing party’s.
He noted that the NPP is waging this campaign in places where it finds its presidential candidate to be unpopular.
He asserted that voting this way usually referred to as “skirt and blouse” could deliver the NDC victory at the national level but cripple its ability to pass and implement policies as it may not have control in parliament.
