Top political echelons in government who wield influence in the current administration of Ghana have become richer than a large section of hardworking citizens, Isaac Adongo Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central constituency has said.

The National Democratic Congress Member of Parliament was reacting to a social media post made by former Executive Director of the Danquah Institute Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko.

Mr. Otchere Darko, a leading member of the governing New Patriotic Party has in recent times berated the opposition NDC and its flagbearer John Dramani Mahama over promises being made to the people of Ghana to pay Ghanaians who have lost their money as a result of the collapse of some financial institutions.

“Clearly incompetence can be both chronic & incurable, transcending electoral cycles. How can any serious alternative gov’t promise to rescue democracy from financial sector, health sector and agric sector? What will be left? Whoever is leading NDC campaign publicity doesn’t get it,” he twittered.

However, in a reaction to this assertion, the Bolgatanga Central MP, Isaac Adongo noted that the claims made by the NPP stalwart are born out of trauma being suffered as a result of the ticket the National Democratic Congress is presenting in the upcoming elections.

“It is clear Prof Naana and JM’s ticket has traumatized the corrupt Akyem mafia and influence peddlers who have become richer than hardworking Ghanaians. Ignore these signs of post traumatic stress disorders being displayed by Gabby and Bawumia,” Mr. Adongo wrote.

Recently, Ghanaians on Twitter have been thrilled by what many have described as a showdown between former President John Dramani Mahama and NPP’s Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko with the two exchanges salvos and innuendos on matters around governance and the economy.
