The Member of Parliament of the Talensi Constituency, Daniel Dung Mahama, has declared his readiness to work wholeheartedly with any District Chief Executive (DCE) appointed by the President, while warning he would oppose those, who demonstrate an inward-looking approach.

Speaking to Dreamz News’ James Nana Tsiquaye, Mahama emphasized his willingness to collaborate with a DCE, who possesses an independent mindset and shows respect for the party structure, traditional authorities, and residents of the constituency.

“I want a DCE who will have an independent mind and will respect the party structure and have respect for my constituents, especially party executives, and traditional and religious leaders,” he stated.

The Talensi MP further warned: “I wouldn’t want any DCE, who will come and be inward looking towards our people. I will be the first person to fight a disrespectful DCE who will be appointed in Talensi.”

Mahama also addressed allegations regarding his influence in the appointment process. He clarified that while he was consulted about the applicants, he did not make any specific recommendation among the three names submitted to the President for consideration.

The MP’s comments come as the constituency awaits the President’s appointment of a new DCE for the Talensi District.
