Paramount Chief of the Navrongo Traditional Area, Pe Dennis Aneakwoa Belinia Adda Asagpaare II has thrown his weight behind Alan John Kojo Kyeremanten, the Independent Presidential Candidate in Ghana’s upcoming 2024 elections.
The revered Chief expressed his frustration with the current state of affairs in Ghana, particularly the handling of the fight against illegal mining, locally known as ‘Galamsey’.
Asagpaare II believes Ghana needs a committed leadership to tackle the menace head-on, citing the devastating impact of illegal mining on the country’s water bodies and forest reserves.
He noted that some politicians and chiefs are behind the activity, making it challenging to combat. The Chief emphasized that Ghana has given both the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Congress (NDC) 16 years each to lead, but the people’s desires remain unfulfilled.
“We have given NDC 16 years, NPP 16 years. If I have the power, I will say try Alan John Kojo Kyeremanten,” Asagpaare II said during a visit of the Alliance for Change campaign team.
The team is propagating the vision of Kyeremanten, who is contesting as an Independent Presidential Candidate in the 2024 elections.
Asagpaare II’s remarks come at a critical time in Ghana’s history, as the country seeks transformative leadership, as Ghanaians are eagerly awaiting a leadership that will prioritize their needs and address pressing issues like galamsey and general economic situation, with the 2024 elections approaching.
