Flag-bearer hopeful of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen is enraged over the attack on his North East Regional agent in the just ended Super Delegates Conference of the party.

Speaking to the media after visiting the agent at an eye specialist hospital in Accra, Mr. Kyerematen described the alleged assault that has left his representative with an eye injury as gross indiscipline and indecent  behaviour.

He stated that the NPP is a party noted for its strict adherence to democratic values and has no place for such violent acts.

While urging the party to take action against the perpetrators, Mr. Kyerematen vowed not to countenance such misconduct especially going into the main conference.

“What happened to my colleague on Saturday was an act of total indiscipline and indecent behaviour. How do we as a decent party going into an election particularly at the level of Super Delegates superintend such behaviour.

We all join the NPP because of our commitment to the values of the party. But what is happening clearly shows that this is not what we bargained for by joining the party. I’m not going to tolerate this kind of behaviour,” he fumed.

The agent, Ali Zakaria was seen in photos that went viral with his face and eyes swollen and stained with blood.

Narrating the circumstances that led to his alleged attack, Mr. Zakaria said some of the delegates were publicly displaying their votes contrary to the rules governing the exercise.

He said although he had reported to the security personnel present, they watched on.

He then could not take any more and confronted the North East Regional Youth Organizer, who had cast his vote and was displaying it to those present.

But the Regional Youth Organizer responded violently hitting him with chair.

He said he had attempted to defend himself when the Nasara Coordinator also pounced on him, punching severally in the face.
