Founder and Leader of Perez Chapel International Bishop Charles Agyinasare has reaffirmed his move to speak out against the unacceptable acts of political leaders and societal ills.
The preacher recently came under heavy criticism from some members of the governing New Patriotic Party and government for questioning the rationale and modus of closing down some financial institutions in Ghana.
He said on Sunday July 26, 2020 that though his recent open criticism of government has won him insults, threats and name calling, he will continue to speak against what has become an abuse of leadership positions and insults against men of God to speak out.
“Some of my loved ones said these politicians and their supporters [they] are dangerous. They can do something against you,” he disclosed.
He however added that “My amazement is whether it has come to the place in democratic Ghana, where I speak and people who are not happy..and instead of they saying they disagree with me and stating their side, some of them issue threats, some insult me and people are saying Charles, you must be afraid, beef up your security and don’t sleep at home.”
According to him political positions in Ghana have been reduced to thuggery and violence where it has become dangerous to criticize political leaders and called on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and former President John Dramani Mahama to change the narrative.
“Well, our senior politicians, H.E Nana Akufo-Addo and H.E John Dramani Mahama, that is how much your noble profession has been reduced to. It is being said and perceived that you and your fellows hire thugs to beat and even get people killed because they disagree with you,” he added.
Bishop Agyinasare has been preaching on the message title “There is a cause for integrity and honesty.”
