Former President John Dramani Mahama has promised to build a domestic Airport for the Upper East region if elected back into office.
The pledge, which is contained in the 2020 Manifesto of the National Democratic Congress is the major infrastructural project captured in the manifesto of the opposition party for the region.
“Construct a domestic airport in the Upper East region,” he said.
The NDC flagbearer indicated that the land for the promised airport was acquired when he was President.
The construction of an airport for the Upper East region has been one of the region’s biggest yet abandoned projects by several governments.
