TV3’s presenter, Anita Akuffo has explained why she left EIB Network’s GhOne TV for her current job at TV3, a subsidiary of Media General.
Speaking in an interview on the Delay Show, Anita Akuffo said she quit her job at GhOne because she was not happy during her stay there. She explained that aside the fact that she was not regularly and properly paid for her services, she could not settle on what she really wanted to do in the media space hence, she became unhappy and had to quit in order to find her peace of mind.
On her current job at Media General, the co-host of popularly TV show, Date Rush said she is happy and comfortable with her job at TV3. She expressed gratitude to her current employers for offering her their platform to showcase her talent stating that her popularity in the media space is due to the platforms offered her at TV3.
“I wasn’t paid in the first place and I wasn’t happy too. I was yet to find my feet. I didn’t know what I’m interested in doing. Whether I was interested in news casting, entertainment, I didn’t know. I did find my feet there. So because of that I left GhOne and God being so good, I was engaged by TV3 and they have made me who I am today. I’m popular because of the platforms TV3 offered me. I’m very grateful to TV3. I’m very happy and comfortable at TV3. You can see from my pictures that I’m happy,” she stated.
The former contestant of beauty pageant, Miss Malaika left GhOne Television in 2019 and joined Media General’s TV3 in 2020. She currently hosts most of the TV station’s entertainment and lifestyle shows including Ladies Circles and Date Rush.
Anita Akuffo is not the only one to have attributed their decision to leave GhOne TV to unhappiness. Her former colleague, Vanessa Gyan, about 3 days ago, also attributed her decision to leave the TV station to unhappiness. She disclosed that it became stressful carrying out her duties as result of inadequate resources, reason she quit.
Media Conglomerate, EIB Network was hit with mass resignations between 2018 and 2020 with many of the popular presenters of its subsidiaries including GhOne TV and Starr FM quitting for jobs at other media entities. CEO of the media Conglomerate, Nathan Kwabena Anokye Adisi popularly known as Bola Ray later revealed that the company’s inability to pay salaries of its employees for about 7 seven months in 2018 occasioned the mass resignations.
