One of the ladies caught on video tape torturing 90 year old Akua Denteh to death in Kafaba has explained that she only got to know about her brutal act on TV3.
Though the 25 year old woman has admitted she was the one in the viral video, she has told police in Salaga she was possessed and unaware of what she was doing.
Latifah Bumaye was reportedly arrested in Kejewu Bator, a fishing community in the Salaga area. She has been wanted since July 23, 2020 after she was spotted in the video whipping the deceased whom she has disclosed was her grandmother with a horse whip.
“I only saw that I was beating the woman on TV3. I didn’t know that was what I was doing. So I had to ask if that was the dress I was wearing,” she narrated.
When asked whether she was the one in the video, she answered in the affirmative.
Latifa further explained that one young man caught up with her at home and poured some powdery substance on air which got her possessed. She was then taken to where the grandmother was kept and only subsequently noticed she tortured the old lady.
A remorseful Latifa Bumaye explained she was completely unaware of her actions.
Meanwhile, police is still on a manhunt for supposed witchdoctor identified as Filin, on whose declaration the 90 year old was tortured to death.
