President of La Côte D’Ivoire Alassane Ouattara has commended president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for what the Ivorian leader said is his sterling leadership of Ghana.

President Ouattara said despite the global turmoil occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic and the wars in Ukraine and now, Gaza, president Akufo-Addo has steered the affairs of the country creditably well, resulting in many successes being chalked under his leadership.

This, for him, is exceptional leadership and should be celebrated.

“I would like to use this opportunity to commend you for the leadership and the many achievements in Ghana despite the adverse challenges at the global level with Covid, the war in Ukraine and obviously in Gaza and Palestine,” he stated.

“I would like to thank you for your commitment to regional economic integration as shown during your tenure as president of ECOWAS. You did an exceptional job, an outstanding job”.

He also expressed gratitude to Akufo-Addo for what he said is the Ghanaian president’s commitment to regional economic integration particularly during his tenure as president of ECOWAS.

The Ivorian president said this at the 67th Independence Day Celebration in the Eastern Region.

Alassane Outtara, who graced the occasion as the special guest of honour, observed that the tie between Ghana and his country is because of not only their geographical proximity, but also their historical, cultural and cordial connections.

He eulogised the warm hospitality of Ghana while expressing his administration for the Independence Parade.
