Founder of Amazing Power Church International Joseph Billa says he believes his intercession ahead of the 2016 elections got Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) victory in that polls.

According to him, he was invited to meet and seek divine intervention for the NPP then candidate’s quest for victory in the election during one of Nana Addo’s visit to the Upper East Region.

He said although Nana Addo was initially sceptical about the ritual he (Billa) indicated was necessary to secure him victory due to his unpleasant experience in previous elections, he eventually agreed to perform the rituals that held the keys to the presidency.

“Nana Addo met me in 2016 at Xtee at 1am through Otiko Afisa Dzaba.  I did some things and all that,” he stated.

“Even my oil, he was scared to use my oil. He was a bit skeptical to use my oil. And he said he was tired because they have been to almost every shrine, every church, and they said they would win, but they didn’t win in 2008. They lost in 2012.”

He continued, “I said, well, I am prophet Billa. I know you have been to so many places, but I’m different. So, I’ll do ABCD. You are going to win with a very wide gap and you know that God is alive”.

Explaining the significance of  such rite, Joseph Billa stated that it made the then governing party the National Democratic Congress (NDC) unpopular and “tied” some of its supporters from voting in the election.

“I told him that we need to stop your opponents from going to vote. I said, the one thing we need to do is that we will tie them. They would not go to vote.”

He added, “And I said that there are regions  that vote your opponent to win. So we will manipulate them not to go out”.

This, he believes, gave Akufo-Addo the edge over John Dramani Mahama of the NDC in that election.

“I believe what I did was the reason why (he won).”

Nana Akufo-Addo won the 2016 elections with more than 53 percent of the total valid votes cast after two failed attempts in previous elections. He was re-elected in 2020 and is due to exit power in few days time.
