TANGOBA ABAYAGE, FORMER UPPER EAST REGIONAL MINISTER

Former Upper East Regional Minister and President of Tangoba Legends School, Ms. Tangoba Abayage has explained that her decision to study a master’s degree program in Peace, Security, and Intelligence Management despite nearing 60 is for personal fulfillment.

The one-time minister and ambassador said her ambassadorial duties in Italy made her unable to complete a master’s program at the University of Cape Coast.

The 58-year-old grandmother indicated that she is nurturing the intention of pursuing a doctorate program though she has no plan of seeking any job with it.

Speaking on the State of Our Nation, Ms. Abayage noted that she is a bright person and has always had high hopes though family life and politics partly affected her intentions and desires.

“I always want to be a better version of my yesterday. I don’t like being stagnant so anytime I get an opportunity to do something to add up to have I already have; I go for it and this was it. In fact, I’m already thinking of going in for a Ph.D. I have no intention of using it to look for a job but I just want to challenge myself so that when I take my documents, I know that yes! I have achieved something for myself. I am an intelligent person but family life along the line and politics came in and I had to put some of the things on hold,” she stated.

Since becoming minister, she has always organized a program for children as part of the Christmas festivities and has since not relented despite going out of office.

She has been detailing why she continues to organize the children’s program as she will organize a similar event for nearly 1000 children in Navrongo on Tuesday, December 27, 2022.

“I love children and I also see children in our part of the world suffer. Christmas will come and most families are unable to get something for their children. The idea is that you bring children from poor homes so that’s basically the reason for the annual kids’ party,” she stated.
