Lawyer Ntim of the Kejetia vs Makola fame

Seen as the Kejetia trained ‘lawyer’, the actor caught public attention with his role in the popular Kejetia vs Makola series.

Particularly, his mannerism and misarticulation of the /r/ and /l/ sounds in words got many cracking their ribs with uncontrollable laughter.

However, ‘Lawyer Ntim’ as he is known in the series has suddenly gone off the public scenes and has not made an appearance in the latest series, leaving concerned fans asking his whereabouts.

Louis Lamis, who played the role of a judge in the comic courtroom series, has explained that the actor is battling mental problems.

Speaking in an interview on Dreamz FM ahead of the premiere of his Banana and Melon movie in Bolgatanga, Louis Lamis said they had tried to hold on the making of the series hoping that his condition would improve sooner.

However, there was no sign of improvement in his health, leaving them with no option than to proceed without him.

“All I can say is that he wasn’t okay to keep on doing what he was doing. We tried to hold on because the fans loved him but it wasn’t working so we had to let him rest,” he said.

Louis Lamis, though, stated that he will be featured once he’s fit and decides to get on set.

“He’s not said he is okay yet. The doors are opened. It’s not a closed doors. So anytime he’s ready, the family is arms opened to receive him and work together just like we work with everybody and anybody”.

In July this year, ‘Lawyer Ntim’, real name Richmond Xavier Amoakoh, disclosed in an interview on Accra-based Okay FM his struggles with depression.

The comic actor revealed that he had battled depression for 3 years due to his inability to achieve his ambitious targets.

He explained that he felt, at a point, a sense of stagnation in his career and that his fame did not bring him much income as expected, a feeling that got him depressed.

In his desperation for treatment, he disclosed that he ended up at the shrines of ritualists seeking help.
