Ghana Most Beautiful (GMB) 2023 finalist, Mba Rejoice Aduanige, has launched the Upper East Schools Debate project in a bid to promote intellectual discourse and address the challenges facing the Upper East Region

The press launch, held in Bolgatanga, marks the beginning of an exciting journey for senior high schools in the region.

The debate project, an initiative of the Nongre Foundation, aims to foster critical thinking, effective communication, and teamwork among students.

Eight schools will compete in the regional debate, tackling thought-provoking topics that address the region’s challenges.

The participating schools include Bolgatanga Girls Senior High School, Notre Dame Senior High School, Tempane Senior High School, Gowrie Senior High School, Kusanaba Senior High School, Chiana Senior High School, Kongo Senior High School, and Bawku Senior High School.

In attendance were esteemed guests, including heads of senior high schools, chiefs, government representatives, the media and youth groups.

Ms. Aduanige, founder of the Nongre Foundation, emphasized the need for collective action to address social discord, environmental degradation, and barriers to education.

“The Upper East Region has been plagued by difficulties that hinder the potential of our youth. We must work together to address these challenges and empower our young minds,” she stressed.

“Through this debate project, we aim to provide a platform for students to engage in intellectual discussions, build their confidence, and find solutions to the challenges they face.” – She added.

She therefore emphasized that, the Nongre Foundation’s initiative has the potential to transform the Upper East Region, one debate at a time.

The debate topics were revealed, and the schools were given ample time to prepare for the competition.
