Niegerian-based Ghanaian actor, Enock Darko has taken on Ghanaians for not supporting talents in the country and in some cases, working against their progress especially in the entertainment industry.
In a post on Facebook, the former TV3 Talented Kids contestant claimed that most talents in the country have faded away immediately after they shot to fame as result of lack of support and plots against their progress.
Enock Darko, who described the situation as frustrating, urged Ghanaians to learn from Nigerians and support their talents particularly in the entertainment industry and shun plotting to bring them down.
“Ghanaians!!! Hm I love Ghana. I love where I come from. If I don’t love and appreciate where I come from, (I) won’t even speak my 🇬🇭 language, Twi in my Nollywood movies. Well, no need to explain myself, support your own hard, Ghanaians. Because the truth is ‘some’ Ghanaians will bring you down chale! They will tell you ooo your time pass!! And aswere!! Down!!!!
You will fade away soo quickly!!!. Soo many good talents have faded away. Some couldn’t be big enough cos of this syndrome, it soo frustrating. I love my home regardless but hey learn from Nigerians in terms of pushing your own that’s the truth,” he said.
His comments come days after media personality, Kofi Okyere Darko popularly known as KOD chided Disc Jockeys (DJs) in the country for promoting foreign music at the expense of Ghanaian music.
KOD observed that about 90 percent of the music played on radios and at events particularly in the festive season are foreign. This, in his view, is unacceptable and unhealthy for the growth of the country’s music industry.
